Here are a few images of Spock coins that we found.
What are the chances that the Perth Mint will put Spock on one of their upcoming Star Trek coins; or the Royal Canadian Mint will issue a "MR SPOCK" coin?

According to a news article, this is referred to as "Spocking a $5 bill"
Mr.-Spock-Coins

The bank of Canada says that defacing the bills is NOT illegal, but will ensure that the bill is pulled from circulation quicker than normal.

Is there any Canadian connection to Spock, for the mint to consider doing a coin? I know there's an Alberta town called Vulcan, I doubt it's enough of a connection though. I could see Perth doing a coin, since they're already doing a Star Trek series.

There is no connection between Leonard Nimoy because he was born in the USA.

But there is a connection for William Shatner because he was born in Montreal. In other words, Shatner is a Canadian.

Also, James Doohan who played Scotty was also Canadian because he was born in Vancouver, BC.

Many talking about this coin on the other forum.

According to it:

The Perth Mint is over-allocated, cutting back orders...

Means: buy wherever you can (of cause 1 coin is enough).
The mintage is lower, than for others Star Trek coins!

Well, basically, the Mint just making money on the passed away great actor.

You right Northerncoins, in what you say.

But the difference is:
This specific coins has been introduced now due to Mr.Nimoy passing away the period when all the series started.

And I remember that day someone said on one of the forums, that if the coin with Spock will be minted - it will be hot. Like the memory is fresh, and Mint uses it.

I am not against the coin or this mint's politics, but will not understand the collectors, weren't even aware about Spock, but now want this coin.

Its all hype over nothing. The mintage of 5000 is way too high for it to appreciate in value.

The fact there are millions of Star fans mean squat because not all Star Trek fans are coin collectors. That is why all the Star Trek coins, except for the first transporter set, can be found around issue price.

This can be applied to the Superman, Disney coins, and the Looney Tune coins. Remember the rationale, there are millions of Superman fans, million of Disney fans; therefore these coins will be hot. Not so, only the first ones like the 2013 Gold Superman, and the Gold Steamboat Willie appreciated in value.

Possibly, but the last few sold prices of the Tuvalu 2015 Star Trek Starship USS Enterprise single coin were in the $230 ca range about double issue price or more. Mintage 5000 with 1500 more in the transports sets.
