1996 P Quarter.....die Cracks, And Some Unusual Doubling

Cindy Wood Valued Member United States 105 Posts	Posted 03/02/2015 8:24 pm Not sure what is going on with this 1996 P quarter. On obverse there is a common die crack on the 1 of the date. Top obverse by the "R" in Liberty something going on...lamination? Then the reverse has 2 die cracks, one around 2 o'clock on eagle wing, one on "O" in dollar. Then on reverse, between the "S" of STATES and the "O" in OF there appears to be another "S" there is also some raised areas in between the other letters of USOA. What does the experts think? Also what type of premium might this add? Report this Post to the Staff

Buddy Rest in Peace United States 7075 Posts	Posted 03/02/2015 8:59 pm With all those die cracks, I expect some of what appears on that coin is from a worn die. I like finding coins with die cracks but I don't think that they have much, if any, premium value. However, the crack through the wing is pretty interesting so you might make that a selling point. All coins are worth what you can get for them. The more interest, the more premium. It just depends on how bad someone wanted it. Report this Post to the Staff

All the Die Cracks are cool and it would be great to see this Coin in AU or even better BU. If u are going to sell it,add all expected fees and start the listing at that price,I would watch my back with this coin if I was to sell it.
