Here is a neat cut silver coin I never satisfactorily researched. What can you tell me about host, counterstamp, and counterstamper?

1 shilling 8 pence. Looks like an independent issue in Scotland, most of the ones I have seen are from banks, not private companies. Outstanding coin!

The host coin is a Spanish colonial 8 reales of either Charles III or Charles IV (on coins his legend was Carolus IIII so the last I might have been on the next portion). The reverse details certainly point to a portrait series issue and not a pillar type so it could be dated anywhere from 1772 to 1808.
