I blame Scottishmoney for getting me interested in colonial notes. I never looked for them before. Picked this one up today at the NH show, from a guy with tons of notes at his table dba Emporium. Apparently the face plate for this note was engraved by Paul Revere and the faces were also printed by him. The backs were re-used cast cuts from the Codfish issue, printed by Thomas Fleet. I believe the singature is that of George Partridge, who was a Massachusetts delegate to the Continental Congress in 1779.

Wow, is that sweet...notes like that make history seem so visceral and close. A real treat.

Thanks HABIB and Portage Lakes! It would be fun to show it to some kids in an American history class. Even my wife thinks it is way cool. Excuse me, my banana must dance

Awesome pre-Revolutionary note! Very interesting - "To Counterfeit is Death."
