The D.F has me stumped if this was an English coin it means Faithful Defender but the rest of the Latin seems to say "By this henceforth is brought back what remains of the following."

Would that make sence to you?

"Duce Farnesio his iam(jam) reductis reliquum sequetur."
So, with the reverse legend, it's referring to one of the Farnese Dukes of Parma, probably Alexander Farnese, who was Governor of the Spanish Netherlands from 1578-92, during which he subdued the Dutch Revolt.

thanks ph.,you have really the knowledge of a wise man and are philadelphos, like ancient greeks said.It is not the first time you give me the solution.
for the reverse : token of the office of finance under the instructions of the princeps of Parma .
for the obverse : on the first sight : Duce...reductis : ablativus absolutus , I don t know the English terminology , rel. se . : main clause : the rest will follow , because the Duke Farnese has this things yet arranged (not the good English word, but I find no better now).
I have other jettons with the word GECT , so this is no more a problem .I have still a problem with some abbreviations on 16/17 th century coins of the Spanish Netherlands . If I have time, I will post tomorrow some pictures .
Once more thanks . albert

Also, a good reference for the legends on your other Spanish Netherlands jetons (but please still post them here!):

"Under Duke Farnese we have recovered this; the rest will follow."
The political propaganda in this jeton's legend refers to the rebellion of the Protestant Dutch against the dominion of Catholic Spain, and their rejection of the "divine right" of the Spanish King Philip II. The "this" that was recovered was the Southern Netherlands, retaken from the Dutch rebels by Governor Farnese through war and the systematic starvation of the populace by blockade. By the 1586 date of this jeton, the Spanish Reconquest had reached its peak, with the fall of the city of Antwerp in 1585, and the assassination in 1584 of the rebel leader William of Orange. "The rest" was the independent United Provinces in the north. "The rest" did not follow. The Reconquest was about to be turned back, and the United Provinces would become the free Dutch Republic, one of the world's first global superpowers.
The legend on the this jeton is like that on the banner raised by the Nazis on the Reichstag building in Berlin at the beginning of World War II: "Germany Is Winning On All Fronts!" it read, and it stayed there until the Russian soldiers pulled it down in 1945.

with the fall of Antwerp fled about the half of the citizens from Antwerp , mostly to Amsterdam .The stream The Scheldt is closed by the Netherlanders and will be closed till the period of Napoleon, and after 1830 - independencedate of belgium till about 1870 , when the passage was bought by the Belgians .
The decline of Antwerp by closg the stream and stop free trade was the beginning of the golden century for Amsterdam , also thanks to the massive imigration from the Southern Netherlands. albert
