I've got a 1952-2002 Toonie with the date on the Polar bear side (reverse). It's the only one I've found like that. Has anyone else seen this? I'm also wondering if it's just someone popping the centre out and reinserting it backwards, rather than a true mint error. I knew there was something odd about it when I first saw it, but it took me a couple of days to figure it out. I'll have to look at it closer when I get home, and try to get the wife to let me use her camera to take pics.

So, it has the Queen's name and titles around the polar bear, too? If so, it sounds like a pop'n'spin job to me. It can't have come from the mint like that, because to make a bimetallic coin the two pieces of the coin are struck simultaneously with a single pair of dies, just like an ordinary coin blank.

Yep, Queen Elizabeth the 2nd on the Polar Bear side.

I figured it was popped out, too. Just wanted to make sure before I threw it back into circulation. Whoever did it, did a good job of lining it up properly, at least. I'm just impressed that someone took the time to do that in the first place! LOL
