Quick sell out does not equate to higher prices. You can get a 70 grade PCGS FS gold dime for $20 more than issue price....70 grade...and with the OGP

The 100k mintage is the key...too many minted for them to be profitable...and at one per they will be available for a bit

If you collect graded coins then wait and get a 70 at a great price

No gold for me, but looks like I could still get one if I want. "Add to Bag" is still an option as of right now. I think the lower household limit and higher prices are both reasons for no sellout yet.

The markup above spot for these coins is boarderline unreasonable imo. No way they should cost $50 more than the proof 1/4 eagle.

I got my order placed at 09:02AM (PDT), order confirmation came through at 09:04 (order # USM04399xxx), the order details at 10:15, and the product announcement at 11:14. I had all of the page fails as everyone else but just persisted. This new web setup was supposed to fix the problems that occurred in 2011 for the 25th anniversary ASE set (that was really bad, took several hours to get 5 orders in since I wanted them packaged seperately). but I guess that they didn't beef it up enough to handle the increased traffic that has occurred since then. Fortunately I grabbed all of the order information pages before the website changeover because they only have the order history back to 01jan2008 online now.

I have been ordering from the website since 2000 (Order number: 4,275,260 under the old # system) - the ASE proof cost $24 back then) and remember how easy it was to get the 2006 ASE set since very few collectors were ordering online back then. I ordered those on the first day, 31aug2006 but they weren't shipped until 30oct2006 (if I remember right, there was never really a sellout, the mint just stopped taking orders in December). Even if ordering is back up to it's old tricks, at least fulfillment has improved dramatically, especially since the mint dropped Pitney Bowes. I still get first-in on my enrollments, usually receiving order notices the day before products go on sale.

A bit confused by the direction of all those words but cutting to the chase:

...you got your order placed in two minutes (0902pdt)

Sounds like it went well...

Welp my pre-sale buyer wants to cancel on me... sad day. Only going to refund if he pays the shipping and return shipping fees since I can't cancel the order now. Hey and also on the bright side this means I get to open the box and look at the coin before I return it. :D

Agree with machine20. Nice coin, would love to have one, but at 100K mintage, not paying the equivalent of $1940 an ounce (+$4.95 S&H!).

I managed to snag one on my lunch break. I saw on ebay they were selling between $600-$700, I posted a presale order....no one has bought it yet. Worse case I get the coin and will have my buddy sell it at a coin show upstate (Granted I won't make as much profit, but I cannot sit on nearly $500 of gold right now...this was supposed to be a quick turnover and profit.

Anyone remember what sellers were asking for NGC SP70 Gold Mercury dimes right after release? MCM is already selling NGC SP70 Gold Standing liberty for $729 each on ebay.
