looking at the date, the 9 and 1, not sure if PMD or Cud or what. the words and date and mint mark look thicker but that could just be me.

That is from a very worn die. Probably in the LDS range. When they get worse (and they did because they over used the dies those years the date and all other devices show very heavy die wear.

Good info! Also, a Cud includes the rim of the coin, and its basically a very dramatice die chip that includes the rim.
