I have a RCM box from 1967 unopened that is "supposed" to contain 5 1967PL Sets.

Does anyone have a suggestion as to whether I should leave the box alone or should I let curiosity get the better of me and open it?

I have had this box for a year or so.

I would open it. I don't see any point in having coins you cannot enjoy. How do you know there are 5 sets?

I was given the box by a Friend for some work I did for him and that is what he said was in the box.

I don't know how you have held on to it for a year and not opened it. Some of the sets are probably in better condition than what you can buy now as they wouldn't have been picked over.
Wish I knew a friend like that.
OPEN IT! and let us know what you find.

One of the envelopes was not sealed so here are the pics.
They do do look pretty nice hope the pics do them justice .
Should a person have these graded or leave alone?
There are 4 more that are still sealed.

Your friend surely hasn't had this box in his possession since 1967 and NEVER opened it!? Such self-restraint boggles the mind.

I really never asked him where they came from but he knew that I liked coins . I thought it was a fair exchange for the work I did for him.

Nice looking Cameo on the dollar, the 25 cent cat looks nice as well. I just love that year.
I have an 2004 RCM Annual Report with Gold Poppy Quarter, all sealed, now I want to crack it open.

An update on these sets. Since they have not seen the light of day for almost 50 years I decided to send 1 set for grading and got them back today. First time ending any thing for grading.
The SD is Cameo.

All the magic and mystery of this box lost.

What a shame.
