What is the mintage? Trying to figure out why it has a pricey cost on ebay. Looked in Charlton but the mintage number isn't given, just says N.I.I.

In 2003 & 2004 there where no circulating 50c pieces struck.
They were only issued in collectors sets in uncirculated, proof or specimen quality being the reason for the higher price.

The NII in the Charltons Catalogue means "Not Issued Individually" and as stated in previous post, are found in Mint Sets only. A quick tabulation of Uncirculated, Specimen, Proof, Gift Sets etc. produced a total of 411,822 sets. If you look around on ebay, the occasional 2004P Gift Set may be found for the same price or less than what is being asked for the single coin.

Last year I bought the 2004 50 cent piece on ebay for $7.25 including shipping and tax. Not sure if that is a great price or not but that is what I paid.

The 2004 specimen 50 cent pieces are going for roughly $7-$8. 2003 specimen is similar.
