Like Pacificoin, I just received the latest issue a couple of days ago. I had just arrived home from a hectic day at work and so I sat down with a glass of vino to spend some quiet time reading it. Best issue in a long time and I enjoyed it.

I really do not think it is fair comment to compare the RCNA journal with CCN. They are both very different in their approach. Although I am not a member of the RCNA, I have over the years read many of the journals and in my library I have many years that are complete ( thanks to me past association with some prominent CNA members). A much fairer comparison would be the ANA ( of which I am a member ) monthly NUMISMATIST to the RCNA journal. Both are much more scholastic in their content than CCN and offer in depth numismatic articles. The Canadian Coin News is a basic bi weekly read that is certainly more general and a lot lighter in content .
For the very basic and average collector the CCN serves a purpose. I think we should all give the new team a chance, if the current issue is an indication, they could be on the right track. Another thought is instead of bashing any publication, I am sure they would welcome written articles and positive input. There are many of us on this forum who have in the past , or who currently write articles for different publications. I am sure that CCN would welcome some new content.

I started a subscription in December and am happy I did. Interesting articles pertaining to coins and the history of Canada. Trends don't change to much but that's not their fault and I'd rather have them every coupe of weeks than every couple of months. It would be nice to have more about Canadian errors but there's always room for improvement. I am look forward to receiving my next addition.

As I noted earlier, there is no editor listed for the most recent issue.

I found there was an awful lot written about the recent Legacy Sale II, but then that was a very major, almost extraordinary, event. It will be interesting to see how much of an effect this has in Trends, since the general lack of movement there seems to be a common source of complaint with CCN.
