My subscription is up for renewal and I'm on the fence as to renew or not. What do you guys think - should I stay or should I go? Is it worth the money?

I just gave it up. I don't care about trends. The ads are all for selling RCM product. The articles aren't that interesting. Like many other old media companies, it has failed to grasp the on-line world. Coins and Canada is as good as trends, ebay is now where the best "ads" are and the editorial content........is here. I predict that it will bump along for another year or two. I predict financial pressures will kill it off as we know it sooner rather than later.

It's been years since I subscribed too. I get a free copy from coin shows or shops and the trends are always the same. The articles haven't been as good either. Part of me hates to lose the publication, but ...

I haven't renewed a subscription for quite a while.
I found the content to be lacking.

Content is lacking for sure , but it really is all we have in Canada for a biweekly publication. I will continue my subscription. That said we did quit advertising there as it was pretty much a lost cause.

You won't miss it, and when you think you do, just pick up a back issue from a friend or dealer and you will realize you don't miss it.

If they would have had an editor that actually fact-checked and vetted the articles, and actually tried to get new content, then they wouldn't have this problem. I let my subscription lapse after 12 years.

I renewed my subscription in December. I figured I'd give the new guy a chance this year & see if the articles & editing improve.

I have had a subscription to CCN for many years. Compared to the other coin papers that are available, they have interesting articles to read but honesty, I don't read them all. The trends doesn't change much, in fact trends doesn't change much over a decade - but is that a fault of the newspaper or of the market? The info on error coins is interesting, wish I had my older issues. I plan on getting a couple more years added to my subscription when it comes due.

I just received the latest issue and was pleasantly surprised to see an acknowledgement of the error in the previous issue on the 1921 50 cent piece. Maybe things are turning around, I thought. Then I came to pages 34 and 35. John Regitko's column is the same as the one in the previous issue, minus two opening paragraphs.

I tried it for a year, because I was interested in how the pricing might vary. It doesn't. The articles never became a magnet for me, even though I have a lot to learn. Anything I want to discuss or question, can be found here in an old thread, or I can start a new one.
I'm letting CCN go because I just see no value in it.
