I have a 1987 American Eagle two coin proof set, it has it's own special box with COA. It has a one oz and half oz coins in it. I can't find it anywhere in the 2008 Red Book. I know they're worth more than melt, especially since they are proofs....but I have no idea beyond melt. Is this set in the Red Book? What's the current "street price" for these?

Thanks

If American Eagles and Silver Eagles are the same thing it's on page 329 under silver bullion.

Edit: They have the coins and the proof coins...but not a two coin set...

BadThad,
Are these coins "GOLD" I'm not aware of Silver sets in both 1 ounce and 1/2 ounce coins. I know thw Mint issued sets of 1 ounce & 1/2 ounce "GOLD" Coins. Could the coins be a Silver Eagle and A Half Dollar?

The proof gold Eagles are in the RedBook, individually, but not the "set."

You have a 1987 gold proof set. The 1/10 and 1/4oz gold proof coin mintage did not start until 1988 so only the 1 and 1/2oz bullion coins were being produced in proof.

That is what he said he had, and that would be the $50.00 and $25.00 coins and as I said the set was made in 1987 and is on page 333 of the new RedBook under gold bullion sets.
