It looks like it has a shot at PL and around MS64. Better pictures would certainly help. Did you get this one off ebay from one of the DMPL sellers?

64 (and this is the first PL 1921 I've seen; normally just same ol' lustrous kind)

Lovely. 64 all day, I think, with a good shot at Prooflike. 1921's are tough in PL, among the rarest of Morgans when it comes to reflectivity. I'd love to know which die pair this is.

I rescued this one from my dealer's Morgan bin for $25. It looked like it could be proof like. Thinking about having it graded. Should I take it to one of my dealers and get their opinion on it first? Or Should I send it off to ANACS? NGC? I could use some opinions. Thanks And this is probably the best I can do for pictures at the moment.

I'm a little worried about the reverse - the slight graininess you see where the light is brightest around the I and E tend to indicate luster instead of reflectivity. Rule of thumb: to reach PL, every point of the fields on both faces needs to clearly reflect newspaper type at a minimum of 4"+ from the coin. Double that distance for DMPL and yes, best to have someone who knows look at it in person. You can drive yourself batty trying to show this in imagery.

Haha thanks, SD! I can only read to about 2" And you're probably right about the luster on the reverse. I think I'll just hold on to it for now and maybe take it to my next show to get an opinion. It's definitely a very pretty coin!

The luster is still extraordinary for a 1921. And if the cotton bolls, large bottom wreath leaves and talons are fully struck - as yours are - you have a 1921 with an excellent strike indeed.
