I had minimal dammage due to the hurricane lost a couple of trees and had some screen ripped off my back enclosure, but onece we got our mess cleaned up. I headed north St. Petersburg florida to stay with some friends. The weather was so nice up there we went to the beach. While walking the beach I found a 1993 Lincoln one cent and a 1997 dime. I also found this not able yet to identify country of origin or date but I know it is a dollar and it has some toning in the center about the two o'clock position. Any help in identification is appreciated In all seriousness we made it through teh hurricane well and are praying for those in the Louisiana area. I will check with Cisco as he lives further south than I and was more in the storms path. ************************************* Update on Cisco He is well and got through the storm with no damage rggoodie aka Richard "catch em doing something right"

Good to hear you made it through and that you really do have some LUCK still on your side! Hope everyone in Louisiana is as fortunate as you were but the hurrican is now a catagory 5 which means the costal areas will get full brunt of what's coming. Wish them all well as they wait for the inevitable to happen.

Thankx Mike After going through a hurricane you need a little humour to take off the edge. I think you may have hit the grade of this dollar on the head. I don't worry about fingerprinting them. Just breaking them. A half dollar of this variety has NO market value.

rggoodie, A dollar in that grade has quite a value, especially if you live in the mid-west! And, thats in the raw state. No need for a plastic coffin for something that can be graded by most collectors! While I am not sure of the ocean of issuance I am in agreement with the SS-63/64 grade. If that dollar could talk just think of the history it might tell?

Only Catman could have possibly been around back then collecting such items from dinosaurback? (No horses yet?)

From what I'm seeing on the news (subject to change by morning) it looks like Katrina jogged east and wasted Mobile instead of New Orleans.
I was walking in that hurricane when the back side of the eye-wall came ashore--YEAH I KNOW, I KNOW! but I had to get to work that night.
Besides, I got to take a wizz right there in the middle of U.S 1 without a car in sight. I dedicated the event to Katrina who returned the favor by dumping a million gallons of water on me. They never should have given that wench from hell such a pretty name.

That's the wonderful thing about a hurricane, it doesn't matter. If your wind calculations are off the mistake will be obliterated by a million gallons of water--Yes, Crystalk, she did take notice and revenge. BTW, there's still about 50,000 people here without electric. Cisco might be one them. Well, I saw some of the photos of the gulf coast in the paper this morning.

Well the leading edge of Hurricane Katrina is slowly coming in to Indiana and the rain has already started! We are already under a flood watch and I have ordered the kids to stay inside. Must take one of them to the dentist's office today and ALL I have on my mind is keeping them dry because Longnine009 is coming. Never know what the wind will blow in!!! Up to 7 inches of rain is expected and I just know HE will be in it!

We will try to pass as much of this rain on to you as we can as I, personally, have already had enough! Started at 7:00 this morning and it still raining and the actual front of Katrina still isn't here. What a sloppy, wet mess and I don't see how SO much water could possibly be in those clouds! (Still waiting for Longnine009 to arrive)
