Yes, I believe it is normal. You can also see this with the 1992-D CAM, you have the normal 1992D WAM(2), then there is one that has a slightly smaller gap that people like to try and pass off as the CAM, which would be the WAM(1).

As far as I know the it could be just Die Deterioration and the best way to check them after looking at the space between a and m is by the initials next to the memorial building. They should be super close if not and they are far then like your Wide AM 1 would not actually be a Wide AM . I see some sometimes like that where there is a space but it isn't actually a Wide AM based on the Initials FG. This is my take on the matter I'm sure someone else will chime in to verify . I would like to see pictures of the initials if you could

Die wear and die polishing can both alter the distance between the letters.

There are only two designs. Centered and off to the left. Year designs may vary. But the centering is the key difference between the two.

Looks to be like the WAM2 is the only real WAM if I'm wrong any one please explain. But the initials are close to the memorial like it should be. It's the only one like that.? Coop?

I think Wide AM 1 may not even be a Wide AM...it looks more like an over polished die....can we see the entire AMERICA ?

WAM 1 is not a WAM. It is RDV-007 which is consistent with CAM cents. The gap, in my opinion, is deterioration as pointed out by another member. I also see that things aren't centered and STATES looks like a CAM cent design characteristic (as noted by Coop). Interesting gap, but not as wide as a Wide AM.

Thank you guys for the answers We can conclude that WAM1 is not WAM and that the gap betwen A and M is caused by: Quote: There are only two designs. Centered and off to the left. By the way how to eliminate the gray spots on the coin.? Thank's

You won't get rid of those gray spots...but I will note that Die Deterioration will make the devices wider, polishing is what makes them thinner and causes the gap seen on WAM1.
