Hi Darkwave,
Welcome to the forum!
You have some neat coins! Large centrs, 3c, columbian expo- were they a familly member's? Photos would help. barring that, either buying a
RedBook ((whitman, about $13) might give you enough grade info for a rough idea as to grade. Mintmark as well as condition can be very imortant.
Here is a brief explanation of US MMs and locations-
http://www.heritagecoins.com/info/mintmark.phpphotos of locations can be found by searching google for the specific coin
For instance,
Flying Eagle cent (57) if all details are worn but discernable, and it isn't holed, etc, it is worth $20 or so. If it has only trace wear, it is worth upwards of $100. If it is truely flawless, it is worth thousands.
Your large cents (1838, 42, 48) are all common dates. Like the FE cent, they were not mintmarked. they are worth a bit more than $10 each if in "good" condtion (worn, butrall deatails discernable, including the "liberty" in the headdress readable) to about $100 if in extra fine (only slight wear-hair above liberty's ear is detailed...)
columbian expo-(neat coin-one of my personal faves!) is only worth a few dollars if very worn, around $100 if no traces of wear are present...
Are the 3c peices the same design? If so, they're of cupronickel composition and worth less than if they are of silver-if silver, they'd have a roman numeral "3" inside a "C" on the reverse-if nickel, it'd be inside a wreath...
Your 89 sil;ver dollar ia known as a "morgan" , after the designer. Mm is on the reverse above the "d" and "o" in dollar. worth 8-8000+ dollars, dep on MM and condition.
