Here is a nice target toned Morgan that was likely sitting in one of those after-market holders for a couple decades or so. Is has full cartwheel luster which I did not capture too well in the image. What do you think it would grade?
It looks like a little rub, probly from the folder it was in on the obverse , and a little weak on the reverse breast feathers not really that unusual being the high point .
Beuatiful coin. I am NOT a morgan grader, but my first though, prior to reading metalman's post, was 64 or 65. Very few contact marks on the wings feathers, which are often dinged. Reverse in particular has a pretty original surface! Don
MS64 in my opinion. Very pretty coin. I don't think the breast feathers are as weak as they appear, it's just that the toning makes it harder to see the detail in a pic.
