Hi Palindrome and welcome!

Without a pic of the reverse, I can't give you a definite grade. From the obverse, it looks like the coin is VF30/EF40. If the reverse is very sharp, it could be as high as EF45. With clearer pics of the coin (taken out of the holder), I might be able to help you attribute the variety.

Looks to be a vf/xf condition kind of hard to tell. why is it so dark?

I think the darkness is a byproduct of the scan, as the coin is actually not that dark.

I lightened them up and sharpened them a little. Detail might be a little easier to see now....

Copied them to my photo shop and lightened them up. I'd conservatively grade it a VF-30.

VF30 now that I have seen the reverse. I'll take a look for attribution either later tonight or tomorrow.
