Perth Mint has just came out with the new series of the lunar. I find their price is way over price. $65 USD for 1 oz silver proof.
1oz of gold proof cost $1,561.90! That's crazy price!
The only way I can think of why they increase the price so high, is that Perth Mint is the only mint in Australia, that is designing good coin.
Anyone has opinion about this?

This is the first coin of the Perth Mint's Australian Lunar Silver Coin Series II. New packaging and new pricing.

Only 5,000 made. I think the price is reasonable. You're really paying for the rarity of the coin, not the intrinsic value of the metal.

If you are talking about USD, you gotta take account for the weakened USD against the AUD which is one factor. But then if you are buying from overseas, you don't have to pay 10% tax or rather they go towards shipping. Perth isn't the only mint in Australia, there is another mint in Canberra called the Royal Australian Mint. It's probably https://www.ramint.gov.au or something but you can check it here: http://www.gxseries.com/worldmoneylist.htm

The difference is, Perth Mint produces most of the bullion coins whereas RAM produces most of the circulation coins. There are more mines in Western Australia, that is where Perth is located at.
