wrk4lvg Pillar of the Community United States 756 Posts	Posted 09/02/2005 4:36 pm I decided to go through the Red Book again and figure out which coins I have exactly. A few questions with a few more to follow. I am going through my 1922 Peace and realize that neither have a mint mark under the "one" on the reverse. Which could it be with the remaining choices? I have two $5 gold pieces. They are both in "mint" condition, IMO. However, the 1904 I can't find a mint mark. The other however is a year 2000 (did they make these in 2000?) Either way, I can't find a mint mark on it either. I think my last ? is in regards to my 1853 quarter. It has rays and arrows. However, what does "3 over 4" mean? The 1904 Half Eagle would have a mintmark below the eagle on the reverse, if not it is from the Philly mint as well. The 2000 $5.00 (1/10 oz) gold is West Point or Philaelphia minted. As far as the overdate goes, you can see parts of the 4 showing under the 3. If not, yours is a regular 1853. Mike Report this Post to the Staff

I will have to break out the magnifine glass for the 1904 as well as the overdate on the 1853. As far as the 1922. They have a 1922D 1922S and 1922 either high relief or normal relief. I don't see an S or D, so the 3 1922s I have, must be either a normal or high relief coin? Report this Post to the Staff
