I received in circulation a 2003A $1 note with the serial number of L61116661L.
Is this anything special?

Very nice. I'm no expert by any means but I would think that number would have some premium. Got any pics?

It is actually nothing special looked at overall, that particular combination of numbers is just as likely as 14364520, each of them occured once in this series, but yours catches peoples eye because it repeats, and some people want to collect them. I have been pulling all bills similar out of circulation since I started looking for star notes, I don't know a value, but some people will pay more than face value I would imagine.

I knew that pics would be the first question. I'll try right now and see what I can figure it out.

It is a binary note, since the serial number is made up of only two digits, '1' and '6'. There is a good guide to serial number types on ebay.

The picture is now on my computer. I need to know how to get it here. If someone can give me quick advise I'll post it, otherwise I'll keep looking.

I usually just re-size my photos using the HP software bundled with my camera and scanner. If your camera or scanner software won't allow you to re-size images, then I suggest that you try out some of the photo-editing freeware that mila_cent and others have posted some links to in this thread.

I've always had problems uploading to the site. It's only ever worked once or twice other than that I end up with weird error messages. So, this is what works for me...
How to get your pictures posted:
1. Upload image to photo bucket. 2. Copy the photobucket links provided and place them in the image tags.
When you start a new topic or hit the reply to topic link in the upper right hand corner of this page it will bring up a reply box with all the smilies on the left. Click the image button (It's the yellow one that looks like there are some mountains and a tiny sun. There is also and black arrow in the upper left hand corner. Once you click the button two image tags will appear in your message. Copy and paste your photobucket link in the tags and tada!

Hi
Happened on to this post and I did my first scans and found it easy if you do scan them, do it at full color, 50% size output, 200 dpi resolution and then crop it with your photo editing software after the scan. It comes out to around 48 kb with a .jpg format.
