Hey gang, I was counting the cash drawer for the open at work today and found an EF 1918D Mercury dime. I have found a Mercury dime or two in the past but they were always well worn. I saw the reverse and my heart leapt because the diagonally bands were full and distinct. I figured it was a '44 or '45 but when I turned it over I couldn't believe it was a 1918. I don't have a scanner here so pics will have to wait but I had to tell some folks who would appreciate my excitement as my coworker just look at me funny.

I am glad that you all appreciate it, my coworkers just think I'm weird. I still can not believe the condition it is in. Thanks for sharing in my find, I quit worrying about my coworkers long ago!

I have always thought it would be cool to be in a business that handled a lot of money. Guess I would never get anything done, though.

OP, I know the feeling. I recently found a 1940D Mercury in similar condition on the end of a roll. It is officially the best condition Mercury that I've found so far, despite the fact that the coin rolling equipment damaged the back of the dime.

That's awesome that you found an '18D.

I used to manage a business, and always looked forward to counting the cash drawers at night, cause I'd always get to buy any good coins I'd find. Got quite a few Buffalo nickels, Mercury dimes and wheaties that way.
