I got this 1956 Proof last week and am very impressed with it. I also got a new camera and am trying it out for the first time. I would grade this a PR66-67 and the doubling is nice.

Here is the first pic, the end of States shows nice doubling, the pic is a little dark, I was playing with different settings-

This one came out a little nicer, I am trying to diffuse the light a little better-

Here is the end of United, once again nice doubling-

Here is the wheat stalk, doubling runs a good ways down it-

I probably should put this in the picture forum but figured more variety photo takers would see it here. If anybody has any advise on how to get rid of the glare please chim in, if not enjoy the pics!!

Well that depends on what you are using for lighting? Proofs need less light because the reflect back. I have a few suggestions, but it depends on what you are using. Loupe/microscope/type of lighting. It all depends on what you use, and how to filter/diffuse the light your using.

Great doubled die!

Coop,

Here is my set-up, the light is on a dimmer-

I have tried a milk carton, more tissue paper (that is what is in the DVD case in the pic), tried messing with my camera. What is weird is when you look through the scope there is no glare, only the camera picks it up. I also turned off all of the lights when I shot the pics. Don't mind the mess in the pic, I have been buying rolls lately as my slow time is coming for work and will probably take the next couple months off.
