Hiya,

I'm not much of a VAM fan but I do think this is a cool coin. Several clashed dies are known for Morgan dollars in which the "E" from Liberty on the obverse die was impressed onto the reverse die. Coins produced using the clashed dies show a distinct letter E on the reverse, located below the eagle's tail. The 1891-O has the most obvious version of this particular clash. I picked up this VF example today at the Visalia, CA coin show for $20. I think I got a sweet deal!

Nice find, VAM-1A1. You don't find these very often and in the higher grades (AU and above) are very hard to find. You did just fine and the E clashes are always a pleasure to find in any condition. The key to this is that they don't make them anymore, so don't let anyone burst your bubble. A very well spent $20, Congrats!
