Hello. I just returned from my local coin club show and would like grades and opinions on one of the large cents purchased there.
1842 Large Date N-7
Thank you.

Copper to me is like crack cocaine. I purchased 3 of these coins from a friend and fellow EAC member that gave me a good deal. It's him and his father that really were my mentors when it came to collecting copper. Plus it was my local coin club show that happens once a year and today was the day! I had saved up a few bucks in anticipation but of course I spent over budget.

I think this one has been lacquered; the color contrast kind of reminds me that way. It's no big thing because it would be assurance that the surfaces are original and it can be removed with acetone whenever you wish.
