SilverStackerKid Pillar of the Community United States 6478 Posts	Posted 03/14/2015 8:12 pm I went out with my dad today. We had good breakfast and it was just SO beautiful. We went to probably 5 banks and we came up with two awesome finds to hold on too and remember my dad with. I only put them in flips with the date on them so they don't get mixed in with my other coins. Not much but we had such a great day and these mean a lot to us. One is a clad 1977-s proof half dollar and the other is a 1967 40% silver half dollar. Report this Post to the Staff

DouglasFir Valued Member Canada 160 Posts	Posted 03/14/2015 9:58 pm My dad goes to Washington state a lot for his car racing hobby and he always brings me back the change he gets (bills and coins) if he even thinks something is interesting to me he'll keep it for me. Got a nice where's George 1$ note the other day. Sometimes he even goes to the banks and gets me rolls to search through. We're so lucky to have our family members helping us in our hobby. Personally I can't imagine coin hunting with my father. First of all he wouldn't get it, and in the process of not getting it, he would drive me nuts. We visited the U.S. Mint facility in Philly together a couple years back and he enjoyed that, so it's at least a start. Ah, family. Cascade Pillar of the Community United States 7390 Posts	Posted 03/15/2015 10:24 am my dad and I went to the Nevada State museum last November in Carson City to see Ken Hopple strike silver rounds on the #1 coin press used to strike all those beautiful cc coins we all collect. They also had high grade examples of almost every coin of every year struck there for us to drool over... then we went up to Virginia City for the day... an awesome day for any lover of cc coins let alone a father son excursion!
