Found this 1980 Canada Cent Roll hunting and I have been following the die attrition discussion which is new to me. So what is this? It looks to me as if the Obverse strike is quite weak compared to the Reverse. Also the edge mark is directly across from the 19 in the date.

Not die attrition. Looks like a slight MAD.

Looks like a flattened fin on the coin.

I like it when its a big enough fin that it gets struck into the lettering with a nice overlap.
I realize that sometimes the edge's of the die get damaged giving it a similar look. I've heard this mentioned by a few others here(CCF) before.

On the Lincoln Cent I'm seeing post-strike damage. On the reverse of the Canadian cent I'm seeing a slightly flattened fin.
