Hello all. I know lots of people seem to specialize in counter strikes or marks, so I wondered if anyone could help me with this very clear and deep J.M mark. It seems to be the same mark as used by James Moore, silversmith of Dublin in 1819. it may be coincidence, but that was also the year that Sir H. Parnell stood up in parliament to suggest harmonising the English and Irish currency, which was around 8% adrift in those days.

By coincidence, I was just reading Parnell's speech in Hansard. Not that it helped me any — I was looking for a reference as to why the Bank of Ireland fractional silver tokens are heavier than the whole dollars.
