I was at the supermarket today, and checked the Coinstar reject tray like always. I saw silver, then just about flipped when I realized it was a Capped Bust!

I've never found a coin this old. I found an 1840 Large Cent a few years ago in a bag of halves, but this blows that away. I don't know much about them, but from what I can tell, its a nice one. According to the Red Book, it's about F-12 with the beaded reverse.

Can we have a pic? Also are you sure it's genuine and not a reproduction. First thing I would do is do a magnetic test.

Sorry about no photos at first. I was busy fighting a migraine. Believe me, I'm not making this up.

I roll hunt and metal detect all the time, and this is how I find a Capped Bust half. Insane.

The "Beaded Reverse" is O-106, a Lettered Edge type so it won't be Reeded. Hopefully there will be pics so we can confirm the attribution.

A Bustie from Coinstar. Unbelievable. Play the lottery, CPC24.

SsuperDdave, it does have the lettered edge. I guess someone dumped a collection. This blows away all my CRH finds, and those are pretty decent. I still find Franklins and even Walkers sometimes.
