thedollarman Pillar of the Community Canada 4911 Posts	Posted 03/18/2015 12:20 pm I am no where near knowledgeable on these but it looks legit to my eyes, the scratches appear to be planchet filing marks(weight adjustment marks where the planchet is filed to correct weight) and that line appears to be a major die crack, I have a copper coin from 1700s England with an almost identical crack. First is that on the back of his neck there is no vertical line defining the back of the neck. Same with the back of his waist. Also the shaft of the scepter does not line up with the head. And lastly I find it hard to believe that a crack that big will not extend to the edge of the coin. Personally I will stay away from that one. Report this Post to the Staff
