Didn't even notice this error until I put the coin in a flip. Makes me want to check the rest I haven't put in one.

Not much of a rotation, only about 45 degrees, but still pretty cool!

I was under the impression that an 1/8 of a turn was 45 degrees, 1/4 turn 90 degrees, and 1/2 turn 180 degrees. This seems like about a 1/8 turn, maybe slightly less. Am I off here?

1/8 turn is 45 but without pulling out a protractor, I'd say you are about 25 degrees.

The obv is tilted slightly clockwise in the holder, and both pictures have the 2x2 a tad higher on the right, so there is a few degrees off combined. Using the rev ground line, you would need to be rotated counterclockwise til each end of the ground was pointing more at the next staple ends to be close to 45.

It's still neat though.

I'd say 25-35°, but I could be wrong. I found the same error on a '37-D, even about the same degree and direction. I bought an 1865 3¢ nickel a few years ago with the reverse rotated 160-170°.

The base below the buffalo is your guide. That's horizontal on the coin. With the obverse looking nicely square to the flip, that horizontal looks 25-30ish. Note that it points above the bottom left and below the top right; at 45 it should be parallel to the line drawn between those corners.

Of course another way of looking at this is the reverse is rotated about 330 degrees on one direction.
I've found so many of these that actually were rotated 360 degrees.
In all seriousnes, I'd say about 20% of all Buffalo nickels have the reverse rotated to some degree. Even worse is the Mercury dimes. I've found about 25% of mine have rotations to some degree.
