Hi everyone- first post long time lurker.
I have the opportunity to purchase Unc Rolls (in tubes) of 1953 Canada cents (1 roll), 5 cents (4 rolls) and 10 cents (4 rolls).
The seller has no idea what to ask and I have no idea what to offer. They are very very nice . I did not get a chance to look for variations but being that they are in tubes - they have probably been searched.
I love Canada coins and these would be put away so I am not looking at the flip aspect.
Thank you for any help

You need to research a little about No Shoulder Fold and Shoulder Fold varieties for 1953 coinage as this could greatly impact the value.
Oh ya and welcome to the forum!

Thanks Denny. I understand the variations in each of the series but I am assuming they are the common NSF cent, NSF Far or SF Near and not the doubled reverse or un-plated 5 cent, and the NSF 10 cent.
I guess what I am asking is if you saw them somewhere what would you expect pay and what would you pay? They are unc for certain.

If they were BU you could pay a few hundred dollars for each roll, look at each coin carefully if you can.

Being a cheapo I would pay in the $125 range for the dimes per roll assuming they're UNC and $10 for the cents, the dimes may be worth a little more but that right where I would be as a common Canadian collector with only 1 or 2 people I could possibly resale to without going out of my way.

I would pay in the $100 range per roll for the nickels if they have no rust on them or on their rims. If any of the nickels have the rust or a bubbling look on the surface discount heavily as they are as good as scrap metal.

I bought a beautiful unsearched roll of 53 cents out of the US a couple of years ago for around $125. I got 4 or 5 ICCS MS65s and quite a few hanging 3s. I think if I could find a true unsearched roll today I would pay $125 to $150.

The only problem with multiply the coins by the per coin value to get a roll value, is that we don't know the grading of each coin in the roll and and even if we did can we be sure that the coinsanscanada listing is for sure the going rate on the street today?

It is a lot of work to realize the Coins & Canada prices. Assuming there is no sign of corrosion, if you use a price for say MS60 that is likely fair. If you land some gems or varieties that is the "bonus" for the buyer. Remember that the market for 10 cents and 5 cents is not that deep. Selling off four rolls of say MS62 coins at anything close to list prices might take a VERY long time.

Welcome to CCF Perhaps you may have something the seller would like to trade or barter with, or just give him a one bundle price for everything and work from there. Good luck

When you buy a so called "uncirculated" roll they are not all going to grade the same either sooo. John1
