I was lucky enough to receive the 2008 Coin and Stamp Set with the 50 Cent replica Proof coin double dated 1908 - 2008 with Edward VII effigy. So I did a search and found three other coins in my collection that have old effigies. I will post the pictures of Edward VII, George V, and George VI. If anyone can add to the thread with coins that they own with older monarch effigies on the obverse, I would appreciate it, it will give me future coins to hunt down. Two come to mind, the Double Dated QEII Silver Dollar from 2003 1953-2003 with Young Queen with Laural Wreath Effigy, and the 50 Cent 4 Coin Set with 4 different effigies of QEII. 2005 5 Cent 60th Anniversary of VEDay 2014 70th Anniversary of DDay 2010 75th Anniversary of the 1935 Silver Voyageur Dollar 2008 100th Anniversary of the Royal Canadian Mint Coin and Stamp Set Edited by SilverDon 03/22/2015 11:07 am

Hi Don- How about the 2011 Proof Silver Dollar that came in a maroon clamshell. Also the 1944 60th anniversary D-Day set has a large copper coin with George V on one side (I know the picture quality pales compared to yours but it gives you an idea)

I like it JimmyD. It is the replica of the 1911 Dollar of which only three were struck. I will have to look for that one (expensive) and the other 5 Cent coin Anniv. DDay Coin. I am realizing that the large Nickel series for this year is another Candidate. Any of those around with the Gold Frosted Old Effigy.
That was the set I referred to above Commems - great set, I can check off all QEII effigies with that one, I have it on my wish list and will be collecting that one. Thanks for that.

MoneyPenney That is a great gold George V Effigy. Woohoo, thank you. First coin shown without a double date.

And almost forgot this one: Extras: **Fractional **Proof reverse finish, so the QEII is "Brilliant" and not Proof.

Excellent Silver Dollar Silveroid - I hadn't realized that it had the older effigy of QEII, thanks for that picture and the fractional set is the 25th anniversary of the SML with double date. Love that reverse proof. That one may be a bit of an investment - I have the gold gilt one from 2014. I will have to start saving for more SD's, adding the Korean Armistice Anniv. to the List. I never really took a good look at the Royal Vignette Series JimmyD but the Victoria I like and some of the mintages are seriously low. QEII 2,643 that one is neat. High relief details of the obverse Laureate version, two headed coin, good for coin tosses.
