I've noticed some lincoln cents have a little single notch in the rim. Also that the coin is less thick above the head Lincoln.
Is there an explanation?
Thanks

Pictures of a coin in question would be helpful.

Here you see the difference in thickness.
Almost all of the Lincoln coins are this way.

And here the single notch. Several different dates have it.
I can not belief it is damage, because some of the coins are (almost) UNC

A single notch on the edge maybe from being dropped on an edge of something unless it a dollar coin.

The planchet is normal thickness. The upset might be slightly different, or one die may have been slightly tilted. But when you look at a clear tube of cents, you can see this happens many times.

Coop,
indeed it is just the edge where the thickness is different. But allmost all of my Lincoln cents are this way.
Copperpennyconnection,
I never had any jewelry piece. The most of these coins come from a little collection I obtained.
Rest in Peace

As a long time collector of Lincoln cents; I have never come across a pronounced notch as in your photo. as far as one end of cent being thicker than the other, It's rare but I think there are a few around.

I take it that this kind of a notch would not be collar related? I am sure someone would have mentioned it if it were?

That is what puzzles me. I noticed the notch by updating my american coins.
I have several different years with that notch.
And almost all the cents have different rim thickness and Always above the head of Lincoln
