What would you grade this Indian head?

Low end EF. It looks like the coin could use an acetone soak and then some of BadThad's Verdi-Care to take care of the corrosion.

VF-30, hit on face doesn't do it any justice.

I wouldn't agree with VF, that is too low considering the diamonds on the ribbon. Trying decide between 45 and 50 but no way is it 30.

XF is supposed to stand for Extra fine... not xtra fine. Why do people say XF as a grade rather than the right way: EF? Also I say VF-30-35 but it took some thought.

I say at least XF-40, based on PCGS Phot0grade: http://www.pcgs.com/photograde/#//

View the VF Indian Head on this site and the ribbon, diamonds, and hair curl. Of course some are notorious for under-grading, even compared to actual TPG grades.

I don't trust Photograde and neither should you.

I think the diamonds looked more pronounced in hand then this pic. I would go around XF-40 for it but it was not the best coin in the lot of them as I thought. There are three less than what the seller claimed but he included an 1945-S Philippines cent and a no date 2 cent. Maybe I should say something?

I would say, EF-40 too.
The small ding in the middle of the face is fairly distracting though.
