Hi all, just putting away a bunch of coins that have been set aside for years and then I come to this. What is the "official" term for this type of error?

Really nice error. I have another question: how could this error happen? I think that for bimetallic coins, the outer ring and the inner core are cut to their shapes. Once one part not of its shape, it can't be fixed to the other part to make out the blank?

I think some German collectors call these "fried eggs".

Improper outer ring/metal flow from inner ring/coin is stamped.
