I bought yesterday from my LCS my first Braided Large Cent Dated 1852 in VF to EF condition for $23.50.

Did I overpay for this coin? He has another BLC coming in next week so I wanted to check with my CCF family before I go back to see this new coin. I searched ebay and found a coin very similar in details as the one bought. Its this one: 111632228029

Thank you

23.50 is a good price for a coin with these details. I hope your coin isn't corroded like this one. If you could post a pic of your coin that would really help pin down the grade and die variety. That will give me a better idea of whether you got a good deal or a great deal.

Paying that price for a problem free coin in that grade range, I think you
did good.

As Celticsoul posted, what to watch out for is surface probliems.

One of my problems when buying large cents is that I look for
scratches and dings, but over look surface problems.

On many large cents, you can expect to find some corrosion
You don't want there to be to much. Of course with surface
problems, the price should be adjusted.

If you are looking to do a nice set/group of large cents, you would
want to stay away from surface problems. I feel you can find most
40's and 50's large cents problem free.
