Think of it as this way... the buyer is paying for art, not numismatic quality. Hobo nickels and love tokens more or less fall into the same category. If it is not illegal, and you are a good artist, then I don't have a problem with this...

The artistry on that bill 'yuck' not worth 50 cents, whats with the bare spot on his head. What really gets me are the buyers paying that kind of money, a felt pen is $1.50 and most of us are also not such good artists.

Novelty not art.  If the actor hadn't just died, not even a trekker or trekkie would ever spend that much. I hope.
