I've been working through an inherited collection with the help of you folks at CCF, selling some coins and planning which to keep, etc. I'll be keeping some valuable coins, but those will be at the bank. My father had some circulated Morgans, two each of 1883-O, 1884-O, and 1885-O...and I figured these would be a nice option to keep at home to bring some joy on a regular basis. I let my sister pick which ones she wanted (good brother move), and then I took the other three. I've been looking for a nice way to display them, and came up with a $30 3D Nimbus frame. Here's a lousy pic for now...I'll try to take better ones soon: The coins are in Air-Tite capsules and then placed into the Nimbus frame, which holds objects between two silicone membranes and closes magnetically. I've oriented it vertically but horizontally would work too. Pretty happy with how it turned out!

Where can you buy those frames? Do they come in different sizes?

Quote: Very nice display. The pic above shows a bit of weird reflection and warping from the silicone membranes...in person that doesn't stand out very much and it looks even better. Another lousy pic for now:

I really like this...I think it would be a great way to display and enjoy Morgans or any other series you collect. Put more common dates in the frame while you keep the rarer dates in your SDB or home safe.

Looks like it would be woobly or top heavy. Is it sturdy?

I like those Nimbus frames, but just so nobody makes the same mistake I did don't buy the one without the special inlay for the coins and expect them to stay in there. They'll fall.

One without special inlay? I put my coins in Air-Tite capsules and then into the regular Nimbus frame with just the silicone membranes...the frame doesn't have any special inlay. It really doesn't seem like the coins are moving anywhere, but I'll update with issues if I have any. I think the capsules give the coins enough thickness that they aren't going to move. Maybe if the coins were just placed raw into the frame they wouldn't have enough thickness to stay in place. Or maybe thinner coins would have issues.

The Air-Tites are probably giving the coins enough depth so that they don't fall, so you should be fine. I collect ancients that aren't in capsules so I didn't consider that most of the people here probably have their coins in something. So one for me. And I thought that some of their frames actually had a little pocket for coins, but looking at them again I was mistaking the capsules people had their coins in as being part of the frame itself. So a second for me,

I like it. I was considering making something myself for display of a birth year set for my father. I may have to consider the benefits of something pre-fab.
