Digital scales for coins.

To check coin weight in grams, what is the upper unit range? 10 GRAMS? 20 GRAMS

and what is the lower unit RANGE?

.01 or .001

Any brand names offered will be great

A scale that has a capacity of 100g or 200g and a readability of 0.01g should be sufficient for the vast majority of coins. Two brands that I think have been mentioned in the past are American weight and Digiweigh. The one I have is a generic 200g x 0.01g scale and it works just fine.
Here is a link to just one out of thousands listed on ebay that can fit your needs.

For a few extra dollars go for one that goes down to .001grams. Here is one I saw on the bay (I am not recommending this particular one) just to give you an idea http://www.ebay.com/itm/20g-x-0-001...em58c1de0c58

My scale for weighing single coins measures in .001g (milligram) units. It has a 50g capacity which is sufficient for almost all single coins.

I wouldn't go with a 20g capacity scale. I suppose 100g would be better, but I didn't see any reasonably-priced 100g X .001g (100000 step) scales when I got mine. I also have a 5.5kg x 0.1g (55000 step) scale for weighing bars, multiple coins, or other stuff.

Note: I don't have the accurate calibration weights needed to really get .001g accuracy with my scale.

.001g resolution is too much to pay for; production tolerances make it irrelevant. Shoot for .01g.

Head shops are a good place for .01g scales but they have a HUGE markup. Just go to the bay and weight a day
