I'll take a stab... I call her AU50ish... wow she's a beaut, hadleydog! I see a little wear in the hair above the eye, ear and bottom of bun... a couple of the stars could be a little sharper. Looks like ther might be a little scratch at bottom of jaw but that could be the plastic right? Too bad about the finger print... I love the color... if you get tired of her I'll send you my addy!! What's everyone else say? I've never graded a Victory Nickle before... don't even have one that you can read all liberty on...

I think this is an MS-60-62 coin. The weak stars on the right side are likely the result of a weak strike and/or worn dies; same with the flat spots in the hair. Focus could be a bit sharper on the reverse photo, but the ears of corn appear to have good definition of kernels, and the wheat is well-defined, too. Because the reverse doesn't show wear, I'm back to the weak strike for which this series is well known. The fingerprint, to my way of thinking, holds the coin back from grading higher, though, in hand, the print might not be so noticeable. All IMHO...others may have different thoughts.

I am thinking MS, too. Wish I could see the ribbon a little bit better, though. Jim

I see an originally toned MS coin with no serious contact marks. There is strike weakness on the right-side obverse stars which is pretty common for Liberty nickels. Minor strike weakness does not preclude an MS-65 grade, although the fingerprint on the portrait should bring it down a point or two. Then again, the lovely tone adds at least a point. I'd call this MS64, or MS64* (Star) if it were in an NGC holder. Beautiful coin, Hadleydog!

I will call her MS64 but I bet it would sell for much more than 64 money with eye candy like that

Thanks for the kind comments. She is graded by NGC at ms64, and I agree with the grade. The weak strike on the obverse right together with the print keeps it from a higher grade, otherwise it was very clean (the few marks you can see are on the holder) and exhibited remarkable luster which really gave the colors some pop. The only Liberty nickel I ever owned, but in time the print bothered me enough that I was finally persuaded to let her go to a friend who collects the series.
