I collect the Presidential dollars and still have found no issuance date for the James Madison first day cover. It's not even listed on the upcoming products. I called the mint and the person I spoke with didn't know. Am I missing something obvious here, and is the US Mint just behind schedule ?

falcontracker,

I would advise that you get on the subscription list with the U.S. Mint and you can purchase up to 10 covers per household. They will produce 50K covers and they have sold out quickly in the last couple of years. The cost is $14.95 per cover and the shipping and handling is $4.95.

Thanks Berry. I do have 5 subscriptions for each of the available Presidential dollar items, excepting the spousal coins, which I just cannot afford, so I should receive the first day covers, but it's strange that there's no info re this issuance.
I just wish I'd had the sense back in '99 to get 10 sets of the State Quarter items.
