Please grade. I'm still working on my pictures. This one is taken with an LED light ring which is supposed to give more natural light.

TOUGH Lincoln to grade.
Obverse was robbed of a great strike by the die break.
Reverse is a high XF or low AU (wear on a couple of kernels).

hard one to call. I think you are going to receive a 50/50 response from members; EF-40 & EF-45.

I'm thinking it's in the VF+ range.

VF 25 details, scratched....that doesn't look like a die break to me.

In hand it looks like a die break.

Quote: In hand it looks like a die break. Wow, really? It's raised? Just odd because I don't believe I've seen one with that break before. COOL IF IT IS!

Quote: Wow, really? It's raised? Here is a blow up of the neck region. I don't know what would cause the irregularity in the shirt line. For lack of a better description it looks like a geologic fault line. Die break or something else? Doesn't look like a scratch to me.

I can't tell using these pictures, the bottom line: If it's a scratch, it will be incuse. If it's a die break, it will be raised across the whole length. The only thing it could be if it's raised is a die crack and that would actually be a rare find.

Unfortunately, this is PMD. I understand why it looked raised at first glance....there has been metal displaced. However, it is damage making this a "details" coin.

Interesting though to determine what kind of PMD this is. I like the puzzle. Thanks for the input and help, Thad.

Looks like a planchet issue and not a scratch. Don't think it's a die break either, just a bad planchet. Grade, EF-40.
