Looks like a gas bubble under the surface. There are several others around it. You just look in that area to check for a RPM. I've seen one like that before. https://www.coincommunity.com/forum...INT_MARK.jpg It was in my gallery and had a hard time finding it before.
This is not unusual at all. The mintmarks were punched into the dies by hand at that time.
Mintmarks are all over the map. Interesting to see how many different positions you can find for the same year bu there is no premium unless the MM is touching the date. And...then the premium is small.
