The Buyer used the USPS blockage to ask ebay for his money back, he received the money, he left a negative feedback and promised to pay me once the coin arrives. He did not paid until today, the negative feedback is still there and he is not responsible. Furthermore a person under his number picks up the phone and yells at me "WRONG NUMBER". The guy even sells on ebay ( http://www.ebay.com/sch/moheta77/m....ksid=p3692), but does not seem to care for any answer. I have been trying the last 10 days to ask him either to pay for his coin or to return it. What should I do in such a situation? Did anybody had a similar experience yet? Here is the coin: http://www.ebay.com/itm/151573493342Here is the delivery confirmation: https://tools.usps.com/go/TrackConf...Q310038940ATeBay´s answer: Not our problem! My coin: Gone! My money: Gone! Am I the only person to think, that ebay goes in the wrong direction these days in leaving all risk and responsibility to the sellers and opening fraudalent people oportunities to steal coins? *** Moved by Staff to a more appropriate forum. ***Edited by coinworldtv 04/02/2015 2:08 pm

@coinworldtv I had more or less the opposite experience the other day. I made an offer on a Winged Liberty Head dime (Merc) at ebay which the seller accepted. I paid him immediately afterwards via PayPal, which I do with all my purchases. A month or so afterwards, I got an email from PayPal to say that the seller has returned payment and a short while after that an email from ebay advising me that an unpaid item case was opened against me. Long story short: I had to phone ebay at international call rates to have my named cleared and the seller never posted the item. It is something that I've never encountered before and hopefully it doesn't happen again.

Indeed, a similar case somehow at least how it ends: Not ebay´s problem!

It won't help your immediate problem: I think you should make a formal police complaint in Austria. for the little its worth inform ebay that you are going to include them in the complaint. I know not much can be done for individual cases but when a series of complaints occurs sometimes interpol gets involved

Very disturbing indeed. Pardon the question, but what is USPS Blockage?

After another personel and processing facilities cut USPS stopped to process priority mail sent from abroad during the first 2-3 weeks of February 2015.
They have sent out a message to a few foreign postal services, that they can not handle any more priority mail due to a blockage of their systems at the JFK airport in NY.
What they did is to stack the letters on a large pile and not to forward them at all for weeks.
This resulted of letters being delivered after 6 weeks or not delivered at all (until today).
The remaining working force of USPS is instructed not to comment on the case (i guess, that otherwise they will have to go) and just to say, that they are working on re-establishing a good service.

It wasn't easy for me to find confirmation of what happened with USPS at JFK, but I was able to. It was essentially a "perfect storm" for them. They switched ground handling companies at JFK at the same time as the miserable winter weather in the East shut down most airports, and there was a large spike of incoming mail associated with the Chinese New Year.
This was a very bad winter in the US Northeast; airports suffered as many weather closures as they have in a long time.

Here's my Two Cents.... 1) Never sell anything online that you aren't willing to ultimately lose. 2) ebay is a great venue for useless junk ... it is not a great venue for valuable items 3) selling internationally carries the risk of fraud to a whole new level at which there is little recourse I quit selling internationally years ago because of similiar problems with a Buyer in S Korea. It took me 6 months, a lot of emails and phone calls with PayPal, but I eventually got my money back. I was lucky. Sorry this has happened to you.

By the way, you can also leave Followup feedback for him.... something like "buyer eventually received coin but never resubmitted payment" goes a long way in warning other Sellers about how he operates.

The buyer was concerned he wasn't getting his coin and refunded. Said he would pay if coin arrived. It did. Then "He did not paid until today." If you finally got paid then your money isn't gone. The negative feedback is a problem. Not all buyers realize the impact of this.

The buyer stopped answering as soon as the letter was received.
He also did not responded to the negative feedback removal request.

Seems like delivery confirmation is pretty strong evidence in your favor. Did they refund his money before (during blockage) or after delivery confirmation? I would fight this to the end with ebay. Not sure how it works for foreign mailing, but doesn't ebay suggest signature confirmation for items over $250? Doesn't surprise me that they kept their negative feedback. That goes in their favor to back their claim of never receiving their coin. Keep us posted.

I believe I'd also raise a stink with PayPal. Both ebay and PayPal forced you to make a refund for an item that was sent Registered mail and delivered. Customer service is a three-way street.... Buyer, Seller and the owner operator of the venue. Time for the owner operator to step up to the plate and claim some ownership of this fiasco.

What happened? You sent him his money back while he had the coin? I'm confused at reading your first post and trying to better understand. I never buy or sell anything related to coins on ebay. It just isn't worth the headache. Normally if I buy something, it's only something small, and a buy now with them having more than one, those transactions go fairly smooth. I hope it all turns out for you. It's a shame what some of these internet sites have turned out in the past few years with all these scammers and crooks turning to the internet. I can't even post on craigslist anymore with all the weird texts and emails you receive. Good luck!

OK, sorry, sent Registered. I didn't read the delivery confirmation, my bad. Did buyer have to sign for it? I'm not sure how ebay refunded their money with the Registered Mail delivery confirmation, it doesn't make sense. Definitely fight this one.
