bmanofnbc Pillar of the Community United States 1424 Posts	Posted 11/23/2007 9:01 pm I never see any dollar coins in circulation except at the banks, when I ask for halves they ALWAYS try to push off some of their dollar coins on me. I wish they would circulate more, then I might find some of them when I'm out metal detecting, that would sure help with the clad totals. Report this Post to the Staff
Spider5689 Pillar of the Community United States 2269 Posts	Posted 11/23/2007 9:35 pm I have yet to receive a Presidential dollar coin in circulation. I have circulated about 100 of them. So far no one has refused the dollar coin. When I spend them, I watch the cashier inspect the coin, before realizing I gave them a real dollar coin. Most people say they are going to keep them. Unfortunately no one is spending them. I agree with most. The only way to get the public to use dollar coins, is the elimination of the dollar bill. Since a dollar coin can last 30 years in circulation, verses a dollar bill lasting only 22 months on average, it would make more sense if the government eliminated the dollar bill. I have heard the government would save $500,000,000.00. Report this Post to the Staff

A dollar is like a dime used to be. The $1 coins are too big, they should be the size of a dime. Nobody cares though. I think I'll dance. Report this Post to the Staff

Most people look at them with wonder, and decide to keep them. Once when I tried giving one to someone he said: "Oh, no, you keep them. Those are much too valuable."' Report this Post to the Staff
