Poll Question
Here is the question .

You are looking around on ebay ,,you find a fairly new ebay seller who has 70 some feedbacks and 100% rating ,, with more than 300 coins listed.

you take a look at what He has to offer and find that the guy has some nice coins that you need in fact the Guy has around 25 coins that you need . which based on your prices your willing to pay total more than 500.00.

So you read his auctions and find out that nothing is mentioned concerning multiple wins and each auction lists a shipping cost of 2.95 and up each,,now you have just set aside 25 coins that you want to bid on .

you send the seller a question concerning multiple wins and shipping discounts and get no response meanwhile your watching the auctions end and they are ending for reasonable money but you know that even if you only win half of the auctions you have set aside with no discount for shipping its going to cost you a minimum 45.00 up to around 65.00 depending on how many you actually win for shipping .

what would you do ?

Poll Choices
forget about the seller since He did not respond?
Pick out one or two coins and bid on them ?
Keep sending questions until you get a response?
Bid on everything you want and pay the big shipping dollars?

I have a rule (especially with all the hijacked accounts and new scammers on ebay) If I have a question or want a extra picture (usually to make sure they have the coin) and they don't respond to my questions I don't do business with them what so ever. Whats going to happen if they send you a different coin than the one in the auction, do you think they will all of a sudden start to answer emails sent to them....probably not. I just avoid them if they can't answer a few questions or supply the information I ask for

Given that there was a fair amount of lead time with the questions to thge seller before the auction end I feel I would most likely walk from the auctions. Some sellers avoid the shipping question in particular because they can recover a large portion of the selling fee's that way. It is getting very costly to sell on ebay and I used to despise the high shipping fee's some sellers charge. I think this problem is going to get worse unless ebay lowers their selling fee's. Still, with all that said I would walk unless the shipping totals without discount still allowed for a good deal on the coins I wanted. Mike

I'd say forget about the seller. If they really wanted your business they would e-mail you back.

I would forget it. If they don't respond to my questions, then they won't get a bid from me. Though it's sometimes REALLY tempting to bid on it.

Sellers that don't respond to emails prior to the sale send up a red flag for me. If they can't respond before the sale are they going to respond if you need to return something?

I too would forget about it.

How about sellers that do respond to questions but that are rude.

Recent scenario:

Me:

Hi you have described this coin as "GRADED BY NGC PL 65" and "SILVER PROOF CROWN " PL actually stands for PROOF LIKE and not PROOF. PF65 would be a PROOF 65 coin.

Seller:

i know what it stands for thank you
but if you put it to pcgs for grading then they would grade it as proof, not proof like as they dont grade as PL.
THANKS THOUGH REGARDS.

Me:

Dear Sir,

If you know what it stands for then surely you will know that a proof like coin IS NOT a proof only that it has proof like qualities. Why did you bring PCGS into it after all it is graded by NGC and NOT PCGS. Oh and by the way PCGS does grade coins PL (proof like) there are many on ebay. Just do a search for "pcgs prooflike" on the ebay.com to see for yourself.

I await your answer. Or I expect you to change your listing as it is misleading. This coin has not been graded as a proof.

Regards,
Hus

Seller:

HI HOW ABOUT YOU JUST GET LOST YOU KNOB JOCKY

Me:

Nice reply. Speaks volumes.

Agree, both a Nice Reply or NO REPLY speak, but NO Reply speaks loudest...
