I don't know about the rest of you, but posting blurry pics on ebay is flat out annoying. Its almost 2008. You can buy 6 megapixel cameras really cheap.

Do most of you ignore anything that has a blurry pic attached with an excuse that there camera sucks? I found a decent buy on some susan b's I'm looking for tonight. Politely emailed the seller about getting some new pics. Got the normal excuse response.

I dunno, I just have to vent a little about this because I do not understand why this happens.

You gotta give some sellers some slack - some of them are over 50 years old and they don't really understand how it works or just too old to bother learning.

You might have decent digital camera but it's pointless if you don't know the basics, such as lighting, stand etc. Honestly, you can take decent photos with a mere 3 megapixels if you understand the basics of photography.

heck they had a 7.2 Megapixel sony camera at Walmart today for 79 bucks and you could get a 1 GB card to go with it for 19 bucks so cameras are dirt cheap now days, I think the main problem is that the people just don't know how to use their cameras to their potential. I agree blurry pictures are annoying and unless I can make out what the coin actually is or they have a iron clad return policy and the coin is dirt cheap because of the pictures then I will just pass them all together.

Edit: I use a 3.2 MP camera myself to take all my photos of coins and I don't have any fancy lenses or anything just what is built into the camera, and I think (if no one else does or not I don't know) that my pictures look decent and even though I did buy one of them 7.2MP cameras today at Walmart I will still probably use my old 3.2MP for coins and use the 7.2 for everything else

8 out of 10 blurry photos are sellers hiding either flaws or authenticity. ebay has the good guys but the scammers outweigh them 2-1. when you see a blurry pic and the seller will not or can not get you a good pic then you just saved yourself some money. weight a few minutes and do another search there will be another very soon that will be legit. most of my pic's I get from my flat bed scanner and what don't look good I take a shot with my camera and almost any dealer or photographer will get you a good pic for a price if it is a high dollar coin then the price for the pic will be well worth it. so when you see them bad photos run to the next auction.

I understand people might not have the greatest camera ever. But to be honest, if I'm selling something, i'll try to post a good pic or at least learn how to before I sell.

Only problem I see, is that new camera's are hard to learn, so many options. Were all picky when it comes to details on coins, so I hope that gives us the right to be picky about the picture.

Oh well, i'll do my part by asking, otherwise just ignoring those type of auctions. I was just curious what others thought about this. Thanks.

Many people I know can't even take a decent picture of Uncle Bob or Aunty Jane let alone a small coin Lol.
