Hi new to all of this and I came across this 1971 D quarter. The letter E in WE looks off center and different and the D mint mark is solid. Not sure if this means ..please help.thanks :)

That coin has been damaged, the metal displaced from some sort of impact. A filled D is not uncommon.

On the '71D quarter, look for the double die on the obverse "AMERICA"
